Taylor Hall Is Lucky After Being Injured By Skate Blade

Taylor Hall was injured by a skate on Tuesday night during the team's pre-game warmup. You can see above the extent of the injury, which leaves Hall luckier than most who have to deal with these skate blade injuries in the NHL.
Richard Zednik had the league's last terrible ice blade injury when his neck was cut by teammate Olli Jokinen's skate as he was falling and trying to retain his balance. Zednik promptly left the game and went into emergency surgery where he was pronounced in stable condition. You can view a video of that incident here. Just last year, Mike Modano's wrist was cut by a skate blade in which left him sidelined.
Hall will be sidelined for the immediate future, and there's no timetable for his return. There seems to be no structural damage inside his head, which is a plus. The Oilers have had serious bad luck this season, and with their top stars out of the lineup, it'll be a long season until April arrives.
